An exhibition taking the form of a clearance sale

Liquidation totale is the very first exhibition to be presented in the FACE B Sablon cultural experimentation space.

Immersed in a commercial ground floor, in the heart of a tourist district of Brussels, empty for many years, we wanted to question the tools and strategies of selling.

The artists gathered in this exhibition each give us, in their own way, a representation of commerce and sales techniques. Whether selling clothes, furniture, works of art or themselves, they all take a personal and critical look at the subtle and devious means used to seduce and create the illusion of an ephemeral need.

It’s a simple story.

An empty space in which cigars and later art books were once sold.

That same empty space filling itself up with objects which give rise to desires quickly becoming needs.

And then there is us, consumers and sellers of our own lives.

Exhibited artists

- Bjornus Vanderborght, Curator Machine.

- Mous Lamrabat, Untitled.

- Pauline François, On dirait que le bonheur est à nos trousses.
